Creamy bacon & mushroom pasta

• Smoked bacon lardons200g
• Closed cup mushrooms300g
• Garlic (4 bulbs, approx 40 cloves)2
• Half-fat creme fraiche200g
• Spaghetti400g
• Frozen chopped spinach100g

Plus salt and pepper. About £3.18 for the amounts used.

Method

1. 1

   Cook 400g spaghetti following the pack. Keep a mug of the pasta water, then drain.

   Meanwhile, fry 200g bacon lardons for 4 minutes, add 300g sliced mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes. Add 2 crushed garlic cloves for 1 minute.

   Stir in 100g frozen spinach until wilted, then 200g creme fraiche.

   Toss in the spaghetti with a splash of pasta water to loosen. Season with black pepper.
